Assuring sustainable supply of aggregates is an important challenge due to their economic importance and the potential environmental and social impacts associated with their production.

The SNAP-SEE project, co-financed by the European Union, focuses on developing and disseminating tools for aggregates management planning in Southeast Europe (SEE). Project website

It builds on the results of the Sustainable Aggregates Resource Management (SARMa) project. Project website

Due to regional differences in historical development, there are diverse approaches to aggregates policies, planning and management in SEE, which is hindering resource efficiency and economic development in the region.

SNAP-SEE partners will have the opportunity to discuss issues and challenges during a dedicated SNAP-SEE session at SDIMI 2013, including stakeholder involvement, data and methodologies to a resource efficient planning, SEE planning issues and others.
